So Plants & The Potting Shed at Spout Farm Longridge

2016 sees the coming together of two local ladies who are passionate about their businesses, at the former Spout Farm Nurseries, Longridge.
Diane and Michelle intend to create a unique destination were you can spend a few leisurely hours enjoying good locally sourced food and drink, and take time to browse around all the splendour of So Plants Boutique Garden Centre

So Plants
Michelle Unsworth opened SO Plants Boutique Garden Centre in September 2012. The aim was to offer a unique cottage Garden Centre with a contemporary twist.
Michelle trained in Horticulture at Myerscough College to follow her passion for plants. Originally from a farming background, she is a member of the Forshaw family of Little Town Dairy. This has given her a sound belief in ‘Buying local’ and the majority of the plants are sourced from the area.
Since opening, the business has gone from strength to strength. The ever increasing loyal customers come to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and take advantage of the British and locally grown plants. SO Plants is a plant led Garden Centre in a beautiful setting, we are keen gardeners and plant lovers and can source many unusual varieties that also thrive in the Ribble Valley.
As well as a comprehensive range of plants, the Garden centre features a quirky and unusual Barn shop. Here a range of carefully selected gifts, houseplants and sundries are sold.
The New Potting Shed Café is located within this beautiful building and features a roof terrace with spectacular views for alfresco dining.

The Potting Shed
Diane Holt has been in the hospitality industry for over 35 years. She has worked in local restaurants over the years and has been head chef at The Glasshouse, Ribchester since it opened until December this year.
As a local lady, growing up in Longridge and later moving to Ribchester she knows the importance of using local suppliers and produce. The Potting Shed menu will feature many recipes, using local, seasonal produce to keep it fresh and imaginative. There will be a selection of platters, unusual salads, hearty home cooked food and much more. With a choice of two afternoon teas, the Classic or Picnic Basket.

We are now in the process of putting our menus together and would welcome your input; let her know if there are any of Diane’s dishes you have sampled and would like to see on The Potting Shed menu. Please leave a message on our Facebook page; we’ll look forward to hearing from you.
